Who we are

CarVerifier is operated by an individual sole trader trading as CarVerifier. For data protection questions, contact support@carverifier.co.uk.

Data we collect

• VINs you submit for lookup (used to generate your report)
• Payment metadata from Polar.sh (email, transaction reference; no card details)
• Anonymised traffic analytics (page views, referrer, device type)

How we use it

• To produce and deliver the report you paid for
• To process refunds and support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Legal basis

We rely on contract (delivering your report) and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, product improvement).

Third parties

VIN queries are transmitted to auto.dev to retrieve vehicle data. Payments are handled by Polar.sh (merchant of record). We do not sell personal data.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, or erasure of your personal data by emailing support@carverifier.co.uk. You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Retention

Report and transaction records are retained for 6 years to satisfy HMRC record-keeping requirements, then deleted.
